A floral explosion at The Cumberland Belle

The dreamiest styled shoot to give 2021 brides all the floral inspiration they need!

Let me tell you about the florals that exploded all over the beautiful @cumberlandbelle venue on November 30th, 2020. The people that were there will definitely laugh at this because when I say we could have started our own floral shop with the amount of flowers we had, I am not joking. (Don’t worry everyone took beautiful flowers home)

It was the most magical day and I cannot rave enough about the amazing people and local businesses I was able to work with. First, Michael and Manal, owners of @cumberlandbelle are simply two of the sweetest people I have ever met. I found them online when searching for a venue with a light and airy aesthetic and the second I laid my eyes on their place I immediately called them. Michael picked up right away and within a day we had a date set up to put the styled shoot into action. Their St. Mark’s Anglican Church was built in 1867 on farmland and eventually moved to the Cumberland village where Michael and Manal would purchase and restore the church in 2019. The cathedral ceilings, whitewashed wooden beams, and fantastic outdoor ceremony set up is sure to catch your eye! Any couple looking for a wedding or event venue should surely check them out! https://www.cumberlandbelle.ca/

We had big dreams when it came to our floral set up. The plan was to set up a full structure built around our tablescape filled with florals flowing all around it. My brother-in-law Rick and my fiancée Jamie were put on this task weeks before the styled shoot. It helps having handymen in the family! Our amazing florist Amanda Gaucher, the owner of @floralexpressionscornwall, along with co-workers Andrew and Yvon, nailed the enchanting feel that I was looking to achieve. For our ceremony set up, we had a beautiful floral floating arbor with a range of greenery, gerbera daisies, cherry blossoms, hydrangeas, and lots of different types of roses! A hanging floral arrangement was hung from the steel bars going across the ceiling at the Cumberland Belle, creating an even bigger burst of florals. This is one of the big hits for the venue because floating installs will definitely make many appearances in 2021, and The Cumberland Belle has the beams going across the ceiling to do it! For a girl who is floral obsessed I was in heaven and I couldn’t have been more happy with everything coming together.

Kelsey Lee, owner of @loveandleebridal located in Cornwall, not only provided the most beautiful gowns but was one of our gorgeous models.  Three different looks, three different brides. Her shop located downtown opened back in December 2019. Her space is a breath of fresh air, welcoming new brides with open arms, and providing a fun loving experience when looking for your dream dress. Did I mention you receive your Love and Lee Wings when you say yes to the dress?! Check out https://www.loveandlee.shop/ to see!

Next came the fabulous @marcandreeee to style our three brides! Marc has been in the industry long enough to be extremely well-known for his hair and makeup talents and we could not have been happier to have him bring everything together! We wanted a soft and natural look for makeup, and hair that looked effortless, which is exactly what he gave us! You can see Marc’s creative work @hairbymarcandre and I guarantee you will be amazed by this @pulpriotcanada master.

Funny story, I had been saving a ton of pictures on @pinterest for weeks of old antique benches and chairs, and I was saving pictures from @stylemepretty or @glitterybride, and wanted to recreate them so badly! I went to thrift shops looking for some, I even purchased one from a lady who ended up knowing my mom (Cornwall is such a small town), but still it wasn’t exactly what I wanted. Fast forward to weeks later, I am on my way to @fairsweetbakery to discuss cake and dessert ideas for the style shoot, and OMG, what do they end up having in their front window? A beautiful light pink antique armchair that was exactly what I was envisioning the entire time! Fairysweet is a local bakery in town that makes the most divine cakes and desserts and I swear when I say, the BEST cannolis. The owners are the absolute sweetest and when I asked if I could borrow the bench for the shoot, they said absolutely with zero hesitation. Our desserts turned out beautiful and we had so much fun taking pictures on the antique armchair.

I had the most amazing time preparing for this shoot and going around sharing creative ideas with local businesses in Cornwall! I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, support your local businesses. They are the one’s who are rooting for your success and their success depends on you. Can’t wait to share more style shoots with you all in the near future!
