Cocktail Hour: Sunset Sipper

We had so much fun making our last cocktail hour that we decided we would do a monthly segment to help bring some fun cocktail ideas for your weddings and events!

Last month we gave both a blog and an IGTV video based on the response from our followers. We had a great outcome and had the best time putting it together. We want to continue to provide new recipes that could be served at your weddings, social events or even just on a Sunday afternoon. Our champagne truck serves beer, wine, sangria, and even bubbly on tap but what we can also provide is a matching bar next to the truck. Bartenders are provided with the champagne truck as well as the matching bar, which means you can also provide specialty cocktails to your guests.

This week I had one of my best friends Josie join me on our cocktail hour video. We’ve become the best of friends over the last few years, especially since we bought our wiener dogs together.

If you watched our IGTV video, you’ll get to see Obi and Frankie(our dogs) and what they look like now. The picture above was them a few weeks after bringing them home.

Josie and her fiancee Mike are two of our greatest friends and they decided to rent our champagne truck for their own wedding coming up end of 2021. I figured this would be a perfect time to put together a potential recipe for their cocktail hour to serve to guests. We went with something fun, sweet, and light since their wedding is at the end of August. See below for the ingredients the instructions:

Ingredients (1 serving)

  • 2 ounces of Vodka

  • 3 ounces grapefruit juice

  • 1 teaspoon of simple syrup

  • club soda or tonic water

Instructions

  1. Add ice and two ounces of vodka to a shaker.

  2. Add three ounces of grapefruit juice.

  3. Add one teaspoon of simple syrup. You can typically buy it pre-made on Amazon.

  4. Shake it up and pour into a hurricane glass.

  5. Add club soda or tonic water to top the glass.

  6. Add the garnishes. We added a piece of grapefruit, rosemary, cherries, and voila!

  7. Enjoy responsibly.
