The Champagne Truck Terza Parte

We are in the final months of the big transformation and we are so close to serving at our first event! The reconditioning of the cabin has been completed and now we're on to the beautiful details of our truck: the box, taps, seat color, and even the layout inside of the box. Keep scrolling to see how far our truck has come!

I can’t get over that we’re about to have a mobile bar truck in just less than two months. This has been the most exciting and scary process ever. If I’m being really honest, there been a huge lack of sleep since we started having our truck built. I truly want it to be the most unique and beautiful experience for couples getting married or for clients hosting important events in their life. I've spent hours doing research, drawing up ideas, going back and forth on colours and materials. I think this is the one thing I want people to know about our champagne truck; that there was so much time spent planning, thinking, and dreaming. I have put my absolute heart and soul into this and I am truly pursuing a passion of serving others and making magical moments happen. Our love for events is only going to be enhanced by this one of a kind truck and I can’t wait to share this new journey with you all!

With all that said, the cabin of our truck is complete and it’s looking beautiful in the gorgeous pearl white colour we chose. If you read our last blog post, you would have seen that our truck was in pretty rough shape and the body needed some good repairs. The floor was completely rusted out and it even had a huge hole that you could drive like the Flinstone’s haha! They were able to put in an entire new floor and welded it together. See picture below:

Once the new floor was put in, they filled in the cracks near the floor which looks a bit like caulking. This will seal everything to keep water and moisture out of the body.

The next step was to have the entire body covered with body filler(yellow finish on the front of the ape. The body filler smooths everything out, in order to have a beautiful finish when the paint goes on. Ken likes to call it “icing on the cake” lol! Back in the day, they actually used lead which would be melted with a torch, then a wood paddle would be smooth it out and finally they would file it.

Once the body filler was complete, they sanded it down to a smooth finish and it was finally painted in our beautiful pearl white colour! It’s really starting to come together. This was probably one of the biggest parts of the process because there was so much that needed to be fixed. Now that parts have been replaced or refurbished and the cabin of the ape is completely painted, it’s now time to “start putting the feathers back on the chicken” as Ken says. This means, preparing the box on the back, putting all the parts back into the vehicle and starting the engine up! It’s gonna be a blast learning how to drive my ape in just a few short weeks. The truck was brought back from the body shop this past Wednesday, just in time for my visit with Ken yesterday(Friday)!

It was the most beautiful drive to go see Ken yesterday, because he’s right on Lake Huron. The sunset was so pretty that I should have taken a few pictures to show. Every time I go visit the champagne truck, Ken and I enjoy dinner and a glass of wine, this time I brought up some homemade spaghetti and he brought home a fresh lemon meringue pie from a local friend (It was made fresh that morning and oh my god it was the best). It’s safe to say I always have the best visits and chats with Ken and he has truly become an amazing friend and mentor on this new journey of mine. Obi loves going there too because he get’s to hang with many other fur friends(Tom, Lilian, Simon and Caruso).
